Sometimes you may have a photograph with friends or an ex partner and you may wish to remove them from the image before uploading.
Trimming or 'cropping' the photograph is the easiest way to remove unwanted content but that may not be an option.
There is a solution that might help you to get your photograph approved even though there are other people in the image.
Using a graphics programme such as Microsoft's paint you can simply mask out the faces of the individuals you do not wish to appear.
Paint is a basic graphics editing software package but powerful enough to do most things that you will possibly want to do to make your photographs better.
Paint can be found by clicking 'Start' - > 'Programs' (or 'All Programs') -> 'Accessories' -> 'Paint'.
Open the photograph you wish to edit
Select the 'Pick Color' tool from the toolbar on the left hand side. It looks like an eye dropper. This tool is used to choose a colour directly from the photograph you are editing.
Click on the face of the person you are hiding to get their face colour into the palette ready to use for hiding their face. The closer the colour, the less the hidden face will stand out.
Select the 'Ellipse' tool from the toolbar. (It is the bottom icon on the left hand side)
Using your mouse click and hold the mouse and draw across the photograph you will see an 'Ellipse' in the colour you selected earlier forming from where you are drawing. Its not always easy to get it right first time.
If your masking isn't correct select from the menu bar at the top. 'Edit' -> 'Undo'. This will remove what you have just done and you can try again.
Tip: Start slightly to the right hand side at the top of the face you are hiding and draw downwards to the height of the face and then move leftwards to cover the face. Use the 'Undo' feature explained above and practice.
Save your photograph using the 'Save As..' item from the menu above. This will allow you to save your photograph without destroying the original which you might wish to keep.
