Fans of Hugh Grant may be pleased to hear that he is once again free to enter the dating game, as a spokesman for the handsome British actor has confirmed that he and Jemima Khan are no longer an item.

The couple, who had dated for three years, decided to go their separate ways, surprising many who had assumed the pair would eventually settle down and tie the knot, despite Hugh's apparent reluctance to do so.

A spokesman for the pair commented: "It is an entirely amicable split, but both regard it as a private matter and will not be making any further statements."

A friend of Jemima's told the Daily Mail that the heiress felt the relationship had "run its course".

"She felt the relationship was probably never really sufficiently stable to move towards marriage," the friend revealed.

The 46-year-old famous rom-com actor is now expected to attend the wedding of Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley, Hugh's former partner and mother of his godson, Damien.

He had reportedly turned down a previous invitation for the sake of Jemima, who was believed to be less than thrilled by Hugh and Liz's enduring friendship.
