Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he is certainly not lacking in female attention.

And, far from being concerned about the advances of gold-diggers, the young star insists that he welcomes the attention and reckons he will be able to tell the difference between money grabbers and those who are truly interested in him as a person.

"Somebody said to me the other day, 'Do you ever worry that girls are just giving you attention because of who you are?'" he told Observer magazine.

"I was like, 'I'm 17, I don't care! It's wonderful!'"

The young man, who gains access to an estimated ?20 million fortune when he turns 18 in July, insists that there is no point in being too careful.

"I'd rather take the chance if I really like someone. I think I'd generally be able to tell. I've got quite a good instinct for people."

However, he admitted that you "have to watch a bit".

"And I'm sure there will be a lot of girls - well, I hope there will be a lot of girls - who are just trying to get stories!" he added.
