Girls more likely to fancy boys with admirers
Girls are more likely to be attracted to a guy if they notice other girls admiring them, researchers believe.
A study at Aberdeen University's Face Research Laboratory suggests that when girls look at a guy, their perception is likely to be influenced by whether or not other girls seem to admire them.
"Facial cues to others' attitudes about faces influence viewers' preferences for those faces," the researchers said.
A group of women were asked to look at photographs of men with women either smiling at them or looking disinterested.
They were then asked to say how attractive they found the men and the majority of the women preferred the guys who were being smiled at.
However, when men were shown the pictures, they were less likely to give a good rating to those men who were being smiled at, suggesting that the green eyed monster is very much alive and well within the male population!
