Jessica Simpson has revealed that she prefers to get to know her dating partners over the phone so that they don't get hassled by the paparazzi.

The Dukes of Hazzard star, who divorced Nick Lachey in June this year, has clearly learnt that a relationship in the public eye won't necessarily last.

The couple had been proud to air their married life on the reality TV show Newlyweds, but the union lasted barely three years before they separated.

Perhaps the experience has made Simpson in slightly less of a hurry to broadcast her romantic endeavours, as the actress/singer has revealed her desire to keep new lovers firmly behind closed doors - and at the end of a phone line.

"Men must realise if they want to date me they have to do everything over the phone!" she told PR-inside.com.
