Bad dating manners turn Mr Right off
An increasing number of Brits are turning to online dating in order to bag themselves that man or woman of their dreams, according to research.
The practice of internet dating is also extremely successful and is set to overtake all other means of finding a perfect match as the decade goes on, a study by YouGov for Mint has revealed.
But despite the success of online dating, unfortunately British girls and guys are still ruining their chances of wooing their prospective soulmate because their date etiquette sucks.
The study has revealed the top ten ways in which daters blow it, and number one is through bad eating habits.
Slurping your soup, being a messy eater or other such bad table manners are big turn-offs for 55 per cent of those questioned in the study.
Next in line was drinking too much, while dull conversation in the third spot shows that no-one likes a bore.
You might think it's endearing to talk about how heartbroken you were when you broke up with your last boyfriend and how you really didn't deserve that restraining order, but a significant amount of respondents said it was a big dating faux pas.
Commenting on the results, Georgie Carter, a spokeswoman for Mint, told Life Style Extra: "Unfortunately the internet can't save us from poor manners. The lack of dating etiquette and people making mistakes is a sign we need to brush up on our habits ? it is amazing some people still can't eat properly, or use their mobile phone during a date."
