Teenage Harry Potter star Emma Watson has revealed that rather than being attracted by her fame, it scares off boys of her age.

In a newspaper interview, Watson said that her romantic life had not proved as much of a hit as the role she has made her own playing brain box witch Hermione Grainger in the hit wizard films.

Watson poured cold water on the popular perception that it should be easy for a teen actress to get a date with a boy of her own age.

"It's not easy. It's really not," she told a Sun reporter. "I suppose guys are either intimidated by me and have their defences up, or they like to take the p*ss out of me."

Currently in contract negotiations for the final two episodes in the Harry Potter series, the actor admitted that being surrounded by cuter older men on film sets was not helping her cause, romantically speaking.

"It's stressful. I'll just have to wait. Maybe someone will find me," she said.
