Capturing the art of letter-writing can capture the heart of Ms Right
If guys are looking to win the heart of their loved one, they should turn to the traditional art of letter-writing, according to a new poll.
Apparently more than 77 per cent of women in the UK love a man who has a way with words and can put them down on paper, rather than the less romantic SMS message or email.
The poll conducted by the Department for Education and Skills also found that despite their love of passionate letters, nearly 50 per cent of the female respondents had not received one in a decade, the BBC reports.
World-renowned romantic novelist Jilly Cooper said there's nothing like the feeling of having a hand-written love letter.
"After my first date with my husband Leo, nearly 45 years ago, he sent me a love letter saying he couldn't wait to see me again," she told the BBC.
"I was totally bowled over that this cool, hunky, darkly handsome, incredibly witty rugby player could also express his feeling so enchantingly.
"I'm convinced women everywhere feel exactly the same way. So come, boys, get your pens out."
And it's also a great way for shy guys to try and woo a lady with minimum damage done if she should turn you down. She said: "If you're too shy to let a woman know that you fancy her, just write telling her she's fabulous."
