Don't call 911 to get a date
There's nothing like a man in uniform. And for Lorna Jeanne Dudash, there never will be because her failed attempts at bagging a date with a cop failed miserably.
When a good-looking deputy was called to her house to investigate complaints made about her by a neighbour, the Oregon resident just couldn't get him out of her mind.
Long after he had toddled off back to the police station, she called 911 in the hopes of getting a date with him or any information at all, the CNN reports.
The desperate 45-year-old dater called the emergency services and said to the dispatcher: "He's the cutest cop I've seen in a long time. I just want to know his name? Heck, it doesn't come very often a good man comes to your doorstep."
Sgt David Thompson, Washington County Sheriff, told KGW-TV that he wasn't too impressed with the woman treating the emergency phone line as a lonely hearts club.
"That's taking up valuable time from dispatchers who could be taking true emergency calls," he said.
But Ms Dudash didn't give two hoots. When the dispatcher she was speaking to asked why she wanted the handsome policeman to come back to her house, she said: "Honey, I'm just going to be honest with you, OK? I just thought he was cute. I'm 45 years old and I'd just like to meet him again, but I don't know how to go about doing that without calling 911.
"I know this is absolutely not in any way, shape or form an emergency, but if you would give the officer my number and ask him to come back, would you mind?"
