Although we might think of guys as an alien race, which wants the exact opposites of what we do, a new survey has shown that the male of the species aren't so different from us.
They're still looking for true love and commitment and many of them are not afraid to show their emotions, according to a survey by website askmen.com.
Men are pretty selfless when it comes to the dating game and in 83 per cent of cases would rather chat to us about our interests on a first date instead of their own, or politics and current affairs.
Men are pretty romantic deep down and believe in soul mates. A third of those who took part in the survey said they believed they were either with her already or would find her eventually.
For most men, physical attractiveness isn't the be-all and end-all when it comes to dating. Just three per cent of guys said that it was the most important thing they looked for in a woman.
The vast majority of guys said it had to combine with intellect, a strong sense of loyalty and a good sense of humour.
Most interestingly, the survey found that 43 per cent of guys have cried over a woman, with a further 21 per cent of the confessing to have cried in front of them.
They're more like us than we think.
