Want to make your relationship sizzle?
Relationships aren't based on looks, dinner dates and getting presents ?they take a whole lot of surprising elements that you probably didn't even think about, according to write Marjorie Ingall.
Writing in Glamour magazine this month, she says relationships are made special by everyday life rather than flowers and chocolates.
She says that having 100 per cent belief in your partner and not worrying about your flabby stomach or how small your apartment is all help to make relationships great ? and long-lasting.
She writes: "So what makes love last forever? It isn't a perfect wedding, a huge house or an amazing body. (If those things were important, Jennifer Aniston would still be married)."
Inghall says compromising is a big element of a successful relationship along. She says something as mundane as shopping for furniture can ensure you're both happy. If you're out looking for a new sofa/table/bed finding one that suits both of you is worth it. Well, if they want a bright orange sofa and you want beige, you'll be fighting about it even after it's been in your living room for years.
Inghall also says retaining a bit of mystery and me-time can help too. Does he or she really need to know you spent ?100 on clothes or that you were eating doughnuts and drinking coffee while you were supposed to be at the gym? Nope!
Inghall says: "?if you can buy a sofa that makes you both happy, the future is looking bright already."
