Men 'desperate' to look good
British men are becoming increasingly obsessed with how they look, particularly because of pressure from partners, a new survey has revealed.
A quarter of men who took part in Norwich Union Healthcare's Mr Vain survey said pressure from partners made them worry about their looks.
A third of men surveyed said they hated their stomachs while a fifth are unhappy with their legs. A quarter say they are not happy with their entire bodies.
But it seems that it isn't just women who are putting pressure on the nation's men folk ? celebrities are helping to make them feel even more insecure about their looks.
The research revealed that 22 per cent of men aspire to have the body of David Beckham, 12 per cent fancy looking like Brad Pitt and nine per cent admire Welsh rugby hero Gavin Henson's toned physique.
Dean Hodgkin continued: "By putting pressure on themselves and being unrealistic about their fitness levels, men could be doing themselves more harm than good when exercising and working out.
"Men need to understand that it's all about being in tune with your own body, not comparing yourself with others or trying to look like somebody else."
