Make-up, make-up, it sometimes leads to break-up.
Guys often complain about the amount of time it takes us girls to apply our make-up to precision. "It doesn't make a difference, you're beautiful anyway," he says.
But scientists have shown that this may not necessarily be the case. Guys aren't just looking for intelligent conversation when they chat with you, but inner and outer beauty.
Lippy, eye-liner and mascara have been proven to make girls that are less-traditionally good-looking more attractive to guys.
Make-up can be used to fake the effect of high levels of the female hormone oestrogen in women, which most men are attracted to, psychologists at St Andrews University found.
"Make-up can improve appearance across the board, but it will obviously help people who are less attractive more," said Miriam Law Smith, head of the study.
"The implication is that women are employing a deceptive strategy. They can fool the male visual system with make-up."
