Love me, love yourself
First date nerves are a part of dating that you just can't escape, but your nerves shouldn't be caused by an idea that the guy is out of your league.
Be confident. The fact that you are on a date with him means there's something he likes about you already and he wants to get to know the real you. So a date is a time to strut your stuff and show just how fabulous you are.
"Focussing on your special qualities raises your self-esteem, and if you're feeling good about yourself, that'll come across to him," life coach Gael Lindenfield, author of the Self Esteem Bible, told Cosmopolitan.
Hollywood stars know that getting him to fall in love with you has a lot to do with how much you love yourself.
Film star Kirsten Dunst said: "The real secret to total gorgeousness is to believe in yourself, have self-confidence, and try to be secure in your decisions and thoughts."
But don't just worry about yourself and how you're coming across on the date.
Be sure to turn the tables on lover-boy and ask him questions while you chat. Remember that a date is a two-way thing and if you chat with him, you'll not only relax but also get to know him better.
